A study reported by the BBC has indicated a value in the use of medical marijuana for managing neurological disorders, specifically neuropathy arising from damaged nerves. The report indicates “Smoking cannabis from a pipe can significantly reduce chronic pain in patients with damaged nerves, a study suggests.
A small study of 23 people also showed improvements with sleep and anxiety.” (No doubt sleep improved because pain was lessened allowing the healing benefits of sleep! Not to mention, pot can make one sleepy).
They used different doses and the higher doses appeared to work better, yet without causing to intense a high. It would be nice to see studies of marijuana in baked goods, reducing the risks associated with smoking marijuana. Should medical marijuana become legal in New York State, NYBC may consider becoming a dispensary.
