Uridine fails in trial

A compound known as uridine or the brand name Nucleomaxx was of some interest to us at NYBC for helping to offset or manage the peripheral fat wasting of lipodystrophy. However, it was only available from Europe at an enormous cost. Unfortunately, a recent clinical trial failed to show any, except possibly a short-term benefit.

Grace McComsey’s team has done research in other areas around nutrition and HIV. The study results are discussed here.
